The main thing is to have clean eyes and eyelashes, free of eye makeup – especially mascara. Some mascaras contain oils that can prevent eyelash extensions bonding correctly. Be sure to use an oil-free makeup remover if removing makeup, and don’t use any oil- or petroleum-based products on or around the eye area for 48 hours prior (this includes Vaseline, face oils and moisturizers).

Please don’t use oily eyeliners (crayon/pencil type liners or gel-pot liners) or waterproof mascara on either top or bottom lids at any point whilst wearing extensions or in the 3-4 days prior to a new set. It’s impossible to fully remove it, and if you come to an infill appointment and have been using this product, most of the appointment wlll be spent cleaning it off the bases of your lashes. The oil/wax in the product will soak into your lash follicle, and getting extensions to bond well will be exceedingly difficult. We clean and prep your lashes, but if they have been soaked in an oily product it may not be possible to get good bonding and they won’t last well.

Don’t have your eyelashes permed/lifted prior – it’s difficult for us to apply extensions on lashes which have been permed within the last 6 weeks, as often the extensions will not bond correctly if the lashes are very crooked. If you have had a more gentle lash lift which has dropped, it should be okay to proceed – but please let our receptionists know when booking the appointment.
